Next Steps

Lots of Ways to Get Involved.

Pojects

Monthly Food Hampers

We provide monthly groceries to families in need. We have been working with many families that have been severely affected during the Corona Virus pandemic, many breadwinners have faced retrenchment, or many households have lost key contributors. Our foundation has recognized the need within the community and works to assist families to overcome poverty and hardship.

Projects

Bursaries

Our foundation assists in providing bursaries to youth that cannot afford tertiary education. We have identified the setbacks that many young people face due to the decision making and lifestyle of their parents as well as the circumstances that they were born into. We believe that every young person should be granted an equal opportunity to higher education and a bright future.

Projects

Teenage Upliftment and education

We host a youth upliftment event called Teenage Wisdom which is aimed at educating teenagers on substance, sexual, physical and mental abuse as well as providing a safe space for these teenagers to discuss the social and personal issues that they are facing. Our goal is to support and motivate these young people to work for a better future.

Projects

Counseling

Our foundation has been working with broken families and marriages to provide counselling on issues specific to each person, family or marriage. Broken homes or an unstable family foundation can lead to physical and substance abuse, rebellious children, infidelity and much more. By working to mend relationships or help assist people to deal with the trauma that they are facing. Safety, love and family are important to us at the Umusa Kubantu Foundation and we will continue to encourage peace and provide support to many through their journey to heal past trauma.

Projects

Rehabilitation

We work with many people that are dealing with substance addiction and assist in providing rehabilitation to individuals who are unable to afford the help that they need. Many people turn to substance abuse as a result of their circumstances such as poor upbringings, peer pressure, financial burdens, abuse and trauma, grief, and many more. We believe in second chances and aim to help people take their first step to their second chance.

Future Projects

Projects

Building a care center

Our future goal is to build a care center to house destitute elders. Many elderly people are living in poor conditions, some have no family that can assist them, some have illnesses that make it difficult to care for themselves. We are planning on creating housing for these elders that have no way to turn and provide them with the shelter and care that they require.

Projects

Medical Care subsidies

In keeping with our plan for a retirement home, we are working to partner with corporates that are willing to subsidize health and medical care for the elderly that will be living at the retirement home. Public health care facilities are severely lacking in providing the level of care that is need and therefore we are working to assist these elderly people in attaining the care that they need.

Projects

Building a community youth and resource center

We are working to open a resource center to aid scholars and youth. This center will be available for use to students to complete their homework and school projects. We are also in the process of partnering with teachers to assist with providing tuition or extra lessons to students that require them. Many students suffer academically due to the lack of resources available to them as well as an unhealthy learning environment. We aim to create a passion for learning whilst providing the resources needed to assist students academically and promote a safe and healthy learning environment.

Projects

The Aging Gracefully Senior Citizens Club

We are in the final stages of opening a club for senior citizens. This will provide a safe environment for senior members in the community to enjoy fun, games, and entertainment. Meals will be provided and well as a time of teaching, learning and prayer. Many senior people have lived difficult lives and had to endure much hardship in their early days, this is our way of giving back to the community by serving them. Our aim is to bring joy, happiness, and freedom to all that are a part of The Aging Gracefully Senior Citizens Club and to promote youthfulness and vigor.
